Duke of York School is a large campus in the countryside just outside the historic port town of Dover and within sight of the famous Norman castle that protects the port. The school is 200 years old but has extremely modern facilities including the new junior accommodation buildings and a state-of-the-art theatre. There are also huge playing fields, a beautiful Edwardian swimming pool and a terrific sports hall.
This centre is perfect for younger students, allowing them to feel comfortable in the multi-bedded dorms making new friends and learning from each other from different cultures. Older students will also benefit from the wide range of facilities the school has to offer including their fitness gym and can take advantage of smaller en-suite rooms if desired.
The programme takes full advantage of the superb facilities while offering weekly full day excursions to popular destinations in the area such as London and Brighton. Half day excursions allow customers the opportunity to visit a wide range of local attractions.
Our standard accommodation is within two buildings Junior Boarding House and the Crescent Houses. The Junior boarding houses were opened in 2014 and provide a purpose-built boarding environment. Accommodation in these houses offers spacious, comfortable dormitories, each with a common area and shared bathroom. Each boarding house also has a large common room equipped with sofas, TVs and study areas.
Accommodation is also available within the Crescent Houses. These recently refurbished houses each provide 3 to 6 students sharing a room with shared bathrooms and a large and comfortable common room between wings, so they are perfect for groups that would prefer to stay together.
